The Nature Conservancy: Making a Difference Award (2011)
In recognition of the Nature Conservancy’s Global Freshwater Team effort to bring the importance of the “Natural Flow Paradigm” to the world’s attention while working to protect and restore natural flows around the world, including work to protect aquatic habitat in many states. Their efforts include development of conceptual methods, evaluation of ecologically significant hydrological components, implementation, and public education and outreach at all levels of governments. Their work on numerous instream flow studies while advocating environmental flows throughout the world has had a strong influence on both the science and the policy of instream flows.
